Albania Joins Lisbon Agreement

WIPO Director General Francis Gurry received on February 8, 2019, Albania‘s instrument of accession to WIPO’s Lisbon Agreement for the Protection of Appellations of Origin and their International Registration from Ambassador Ravesa Lleshi, Permanent Representative of Albania to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva. The Lisbon System for the International Registration of Appellations of Origin offers a means of obtaining protection for an appellation of origin in contracting parties to the Lisbon Agreement through a single registration and one set of fees.  Albania is the 29th contracting party to the Lisbon Agreement.
